Ram Mandir Ayodhya: Construction

The construction of the Shri Ram Temple began in March 2020 in the holy site of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. But following the 2020 China-India hostilities, the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in India forced a temporary halt to building. At the building site, artefacts including a Shiva Linga, pillars, and damaged sculptures were found during the levelling and excavation process.
In the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a makeshift altar was constructed on March 25, 2020, to house the idol of Lord Shri Ram.
The World Hindu Council arranged a Victory Mantra chanting event ahead of its construction. People flocked to several areas on April 6, 2020, to chant the victory mantra, “Shri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram.” The purpose of this ritual was to guarantee “victory over obstacles” in the temple’s building.
